The Belize Audubon Society (BAS) is a non-profit, non-government, membership organization, dedicated to the promotion of the sustainable use and preservation of our natural resources in order to maintain a balance between people and the environment.
Five Blues Lake National Park
Established on Earth Day 1991, Five Blues Lake National Park is a 4200 acre preserve of Broadleaf Forest and Swiss-cheese-holed karst limestone terrain. As unique as it is for it's physical splendors, Five Blues Lake National Park is also the only protected area in Belize run and maintained wholly by local community support.
Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Visit coral reefs, snorkel with sharks and sting rays, experience Belize's first marine park, photos of marine life in Belize.
Laughing Bird Caye National Park
Description of island and surrounding coral reef, named after Laughingbird gull which breeds there. Extensive scientific and popular information on flora, fauna, coral habitat, marine life.
Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve
The Mountain Pine Ridge in Belize's Cayo District covers nearly 300 square miles of unpaved roads and nature trails. The terrain is especially suited for hiking, mountain bikes, horseback riding, and caves.
