Woman missing from Bahamas

A body that washed up on the shores of John U. Lloyd Beach State Park is a 49-year-old woman from Holland who killed herself, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Monique Teresia Van Der Steenstraeten went missing Sunday night from a Discovery cruise that was returning from a three-day trip to the Bahamas, BSO said.

Her body was found Monday morning at the state park, which is just south of Port Everglades.
The medical examiner has already done an autopsy and ruled the death a suicide, BSO said.
