Local Plastic Surgeon Helping Honduran

A North Texas plastic surgeon is performing miracles, and his latest case involves a little girl from Honduras who is now getting a second chance at a normal life.
Her name is Senia. The happy and active 2-year-old now lives with a foster family in Plano. She came to the U.S. from Honduras on a medical visa.

Craig Hobar is her surgeon. "She's got cleft foot in the palate, but that's the least of her problems. She was born without an eye. Extra, misplaced bones. Her facial bones are not right. Her eyelids are missing," Hobar explained. "But she's a beautiful, normal girl underneath."

Hobar met Senia while on a mission trip in Honduras. She was in need of some extensive plastic surgery.

Through a Christian ogranization that he founded, Hobar helped Senia travel to the U.S. for medical help.
Anna and Alan England opened their home to Senia after they too went on a church mission trip in Honduras. "She's a blessing to everyone she meets," said Alan. "Sweetest little girl."

Even with four children of their own, the England family offered to take care of little Senia during her medical procedures.

Senia's birth mother still lives in Honduras and suffers from AIDS. She is currently working with the government in Honduras to allow the England family to adopt her daughter. The whereabouts of Senia's father are unknown.

Senia is scheduled for at least three more surgeries within the next year.

"Senia is a story of hope," Hobar said, "and all you have to do is look at her and see how happy she is."
